The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has officially announced the datesheet for the upcoming 2025 board examinations, providing students with essential information to plan their study schedules effectively. The exams for both Class 10 and Class 12 will commence on February 15, 2025, marking the beginning of a crucial period for approximately 44 lakh students across India and abroad.
Key Dates and Schedule
For Class 10, the examinations will begin with English (Communicative) on February 15 and will conclude with the final exam on March 18, 2025. This year's schedule strategically places major subjects at the forefront, allowing students some breathing room as they navigate through their assessments.
In contrast, Class 12 exams will also start on February 15, with Entrepreneurship as the first subject. The last exam for Class 12 is scheduled for April 4, 2025, when students will sit for their Psychology paper.
Examination Format and Guidelines
All examinations will be conducted in a single shift starting at 10:30 AM, with varying durations depending on the subject. Each subject will carry a maximum of 100 marks, which will be divided between theory, practicals, internal assessments, and projects.
The CBSE has clarified that there will be no reduction in the syllabus for both classes, and open book exams will not be introduced this year. Students are required to maintain a minimum attendance of 75% to be eligible for the board examinations.
Practical Exams
Practical examinations for Class 10 are set to commence on January 1, 2025, while Class 12 practicals will begin concurrently with theory exams on February 15. For winter-bound schools, practical exams are already underway from November 5 to December 5, 2024.
The early release of the datesheet 86 days before the first exam offers students ample time to prepare adequately. The CBSE encourages students to review the timetable carefully and develop effective study plans to ensure success in these critical assessments.
