The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main is one of the most significant exams for students aspiring to pursue undergraduate courses in Engineering, Architecture, and Planning at some of India's most prestigious institutions. Conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA), JEE Main is the first step towards securing a seat in top engineering colleges such as the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), National Institutes of Technology (NITs), and many other government and private engineering institutions across the country.

The Format of JEE Main
The JEE Main exam is conducted in two formats:
- Paper 1 (for B.Tech/B.E. aspirants): This is an online (computer-based) test with multiple-choice questions (MCQs) from Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
- Paper 2 (for B.Arch/B.Planning aspirants): This is a combination of both Pen and Paper (for the drawing test) and Computer-Based (for the MCQs) sections, which also focus on Mathematics, Aptitude, and Drawing skills.
The marks and duration for each paper are as follows:
- Paper 1: 300 marks (Mathematics: 100, Physics: 100, Chemistry: 100) | 3 hours
- Paper 2: 400 marks (Mathematics: 100, Aptitude: 200, Drawing: 100) | 3 hours
The exam is conducted twice a year, which allows students to appear for the exam in two separate sessions, increasing their chances of scoring better. This flexibility helps reduce the stress of competing with a single, high-stakes exam.
JEE Main is not just a test, but a crucial milestone in the journey to becoming an engineer. The exam tests your skills, intelligence, and perseverance. The twice-a-year exam structure gives students ample opportunities to give their best shot, ensuring that they have the chance to improve their performance.
