The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is set to introduce a global curriculum for foreign students from the 2026-2027 academic year. In addition, a draft plan for conducting board exams twice a year is in progress and will be available for public consultation soon.
A meeting led by Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Tuesday discussed the CBSE Global Curriculum, along with officials from the external affairs ministry, NCERT, Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS), and Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS). Following this, CBSE announced that the global curriculum would be launched in 2026-27, and a detailed action plan would be prepared.
Meanwhile, Pradhan also shared on social media that a draft plan is being created to hold CBSE board exams twice a year. He emphasized that this initiative aligns with the National Education Policy (NEP) and aims to reduce exam-related stress among students. The plan will soon be released for public feedback.
These changes mark a significant step in modernizing CBSE’s approach to education while ensuring students have a more flexible and stress-free learning experience.
