France has launched the second edition of the Classes Internationales programme, aiming to welcome 30,000 Indian students by 2030. The programme, supported by the French government, provides a one-year preparatory course to help students adapt to the French language and academic system before joining undergraduate programmes.
About the Programme
The Classes Internationales 2025 initiative is organized by the French Embassy in India and Campus France. It was first announced by French President Emmanuel Macron during his visit to Jaipur in January 2024. The programme is designed to make it easier for Indian students to study in France by offering foundational training in language and academics.
More than 30 institutions in France are participating in this initiative, offering courses in fields such as arts, engineering, social sciences, and design. Students who complete the preparatory programme will have direct access to over 200 academic courses. Some programmes also follow an apprenticeship model, allowing students to gain work experience while studying. In many cases, companies provide financial support, including covering tuition fees.
Strengthening India-France Educational Ties
French Ambassador to India, Thierry Mathou, stated that this initiative will strengthen the educational and cultural ties between India and France. The French government is providing support through Campus France and the French Embassy to ensure Indian students have a smooth transition.
Application Process and Deadlines
Students can apply directly through the official website: www.classesinternationales.org. Admissions are based on academic background and motivation, and no entrance exam is required.
The application deadlines are as follows:
