The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued an important notice for students appearing for the Class 10 and 12 board exams, scheduled to begin on February 15, 2025. The notice highlights strict rules to ensure fair examinations and warns of penalties for violating these rules.
The notice, sent to principals and school heads, emphasizes the need for fair conduct during exams in the interest of students’ academic integrity. Schools are instructed to inform both students and parents about the examination ethics and associated penalties.
Key Guidelines:
- Prohibited Items: Students are not allowed to carry electronic devices or other prohibited items to the examination centre.
- Permitted Items: Students may bring only essential items such as admit cards, school ID cards, government-issued photo ID, stationery in a transparent pouch, geometry boxes, analog watches, and transparent water bottles.
- No Rumours: Students must avoid spreading rumours or misinformation that could disrupt the exams.
Unfair Means Act:
CBSE has highlighted the "Unfair Means Act," which applies to students caught cheating or violating rules. Using electronic devices as communication tools or engaging in any unfair practice will be considered serious violations.
School principals are expected to brief students and parents about these rules and ensure compliance on exam day.
Students are urged to follow the guidelines strictly to avoid penalties, including cancellation of exams. Schools have been advised to take the notice seriously to ensure smooth and fair conduct of the board examinations.
