JEE Main 2025 Session 1 Begins January 22: Key Exam Day Guidelines Announced

The National Testing Agency (NTA) is set to conduct the first session of the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2025 from January 22 to January 30. The much-anticipated BE/BTech (Paper 1) exam, which serves as a gateway for engineering aspirants across the country, will kick off the series of exams. The duration for Paper 1 is three hours, while the combined BArch and BPlanning exams will take three hours and 30 minutes. The second session of JEE Main 2025 is scheduled for April.

Exam Schedule and Shifts- The morning shift for the exams will be conducted from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, and the afternoon shift will take place between 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM. The Paper 2 exam, specifically for BArch and BPlanning, will be held exclusively on January 30 in the second shift.

Important Exam Day Guidelines

To ensure a smooth and stress-free examination process, the NTA has issued comprehensive guidelines:

  • Pre-Exam Formalities:
  1. Candidates must paste a recent photograph on their admit card and are advised to carry two additional photographs.
  2. Students who registered without using Aadhaar or DigiLocker will need to report early to complete the necessary biometric procedures.
  3. All candidates must arrive at the exam center at least one hour before their shift begins to allow for biometric verification.
  • Essential Items to Carry:
  1. A printed copy of the JEE Main 2025 admit card.
  2. A valid, original photo ID for identification purposes.
  3. For Paper 2, candidates should carry a geometry box, pencils, erasers, and color pencils or crayons.
  • Prohibited Items:
  1. Candidates are not allowed to carry instruments, handbags, mobile phones, earphones, calculators, electronic gadgets, or any metallic items.
  2. Food items, except for diabetic-friendly options like sugar tablets, fruits, and transparent water bottles, are strictly prohibited.
  • Admit Card Submission:
  1. Candidates must drop their admit cards in the designated drop box before leaving the exam hall. Failure to do so will result in their answer sheets not being evaluated.

Special Provisions

Diabetic candidates are permitted to carry specific food items, such as bananas, apples, and oranges, along with transparent water bottles. However, packaged foods, chocolates, or sandwiches are not allowed. The NTA aims to ensure a fair, efficient, and stress-free examination process for the lakhs of students appearing for the JEE Main 2025. Candidates are urged to adhere strictly to these guidelines to avoid inconvenience on the exam day.
